Well. I'm back. Wish I could say that I had stuck with it all this time and just not blogged about it, but that's clearly not the case. Oh, I did a week here and there after I quit the blog, but for the most part I've certainly been slacking. I've done a week without impulsive purchases, I've done weeks without using the Internet for entertainment, no books, Netflix and whatnot.
I got busy, ran out of ideas, and forgot about it in general. But here I am. Ready to start again!
Here we go, with a re-run. Starting tomorrow I'm doing a week without caffeine again.
Also tomorrow I might just have something interesting to say on here.

BLAAAGH.
Well, it's been a while. I wish I had more to talk about other than how the last weeks went, but I really don't so here we go!
Week without skipping the gym: That was actually the first week that I did not complete. That Saturday I skipped the gym both due to getting a new roommate who is reading over my shoulder, and having spent Friday night at a lock-in at the church. I was very tired.
Next week was a week without skipping breakfast. 'Cause you know... Breakfast is the most important meal of the day. Yeah, that one was kinda lame, but I couldn't think of any thing else that I was ready for. I actually didn't finish that week either, waking up late enough on Sunday I had exactly enough time to get dressed and out the door. Soo... yeah. Not doing so hot.
The week after that (dang I should update this more often) was a week without hot showers. This one sucked. Really, really sucked. Cold showers in the morning are the worst, just the worst. Ugh. Tell ya what, I really appreciate warm showers more now. Really.
This current week is one I wasn't looking forward to, just like most of the weeks that will actually mean something. A week without internet videos. No Netflix, no Youtube, no "Hey, look at this funny video on facebook!". It's gone well so far. Haven't watched any. Don't plan to. Hopefully this week will get me in the habit of not wasting all my time watching silly things on YouFlix.
Anywho, that's all I have for now. Hopefully I'll update this again soon but clearly I make no guarantees. Also, music of the blog today...

Late Update
Yes, this is very late. I have no excuse other than crippling laziness as to why I didn't post sooner. The week without meat was a success. It sucked, but it went ok. I say it sucked because meat is integral to how I eat. It's in every meal if I can manage it. It was so tempting to eat that pizza with the little meat chunks, but I managed. The current week is a week without skipping going to the gym. A group of Ortonvillians and I recently joined a fitness center. So, this is me trying to combat my crippling laziness. I don't have a whole lot to say I guess.

Week 2: No Look at Facebook
This last week, I went without Facebook. I really wish it was a more exciting week than it was. I usually start my internetting by opening my browser, and promptly seeing what Facebook has to tell me. It wasn't nearly as much of a temptation to check Facebook as it was for me to drink pop the week before. The only time I was really curious was when that loser Nate said he posted his blog's name on his Facebook. (It's www.overproportionate.blogspot.com if you were wondering.) I managed to stick with it though. I think this next week is going to be a bit more difficult, because it's going to take quite a bit of planning and actually doing things. It's already.. vegan. Crap, that didn't sound as witty as I thought it would. I hope you're ready to meat this next week. Man.... Yeah, this next week is going without meat. I'm going to be eating a lot of rice, and corn, and beans, and cheese. All at the same time. It's going to be very interesting.
If someone has any ideas for a future week, please let me know. If you feel like joining me in mini-lent, feel free. If you don't want to, feel free to not.
The verse of the post is:

Week 1, A Week Without Caffeine (A Week Too Late)
I feel like I need to start this post off right. The more I look at it, the more I realize that "week" is a funny looking word. There, now that's off my chest, I can get down to business.
As you might have noticed, I started this blog on January 10th. Not the first. But I still did a week without something. The reason I waited until the 10th is because I wasn't sure if I wanted to blog about it, or if it was just something that I should do. Clearly, I decided to go with the blog-route. Heh, blog. Another funny looking word.
Yeah, week 1. A week without caffeine. This was a tough one for me, due to the fact that I like caffeine. I like almost everything about it. The fact that it exists. How it affects my state of awareness. The things that it's in like pop and coffee. How it helps get rid of my headaches. I pretty much like everything about it except how much I like it. I'm addicted to caffeine. This last week was interesting to say the least. I'm pretty sure my body was trying to convince me that I was doing worse than I was. It was the second day. I was doing fine, I really was, but I kept thinking that I wouldn't be so tired, and my headache would go away if I just had some Mountain Dew. I didn't have a headache, but I was convinced I did. Another day, I had stopped to fill my gas tank, went into the convenience store and bought some pop, and had just unscrewed the top when I remembered that I couldn't drink it. Eventually I did get headaches, and I was very tired, but I did make it through the week.
(1 Corinthians 10:13 ESV)
No temptation has overtaken you that is not common to man. God is faithful, and he will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation he will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

What is 52 Weeks Without?
Hey Everybody. So, first I think I should tell you what 52 Weeks Without is. Sometime in November of 2012 this little idea came into my head. It went something like this: Facebook makes me mad. I spend way too much time on Facebook. I should see if I can go a week without Facebook. You know, I also drink way too much caffeine. I should cut back on that. And the idea kept growing. My life has become so cluttered with distractions that I can't focus on one thing. I've begun to lose God among all my video games, FaceTubes, books, and what have you. I feel like He put it in my mind and on my heart to do this sort of year long, miniature Lent, thing. Every week for the year of 2013, I'm going to go without... something. Facebook, tv/videos, music, caffeine, meat, books, video games. Honestly, I don't know every week yet. I barely have January figured out.
I can't promise I'll be able to do it. I can almost guarantee, at least three times, I will slip up and have or do what I'm supposed to not. I will try though. Oh! And I'll blog about it too. I'll update what week I'm on (2 currently), what I've given up for the week (Facebook), and probably just talk about stuff.
This blog is not me saying "Hey, look at me! I'm doing something!" This is me trying to honor and get closer to God. That right there is the main focus and goal of this whole thing. If anyone has any ideas of what I could do for a week, I would love to hear it. If anyone is interested in keeping me accountable, let me know. If anyone reads this, thanks for reading! Well, I'm off! Enjoy some music.
